profession.
2. High School Diploma or equivalent.
Please note: The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine
Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA) is the
regulatory body in British Columbia. On December 28, 2009, CTCMA has
approved the dropping of a previous requirement of a 2 year prerequisites
for entry into Acupuncture and TCM schools in British Columbia. An
individual no longer has to complete 2 years of university education before
entering a TCM / Acupuncture training program. So the British Columbia
acupuncture colleges have changed their admission requirements to high
school diploma accordingly.
British Columbia was the first province in Canada to regulate the practice
of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Our college’s Acupuncture
diploma programs were developed based on the standards of British Columbia
Acupuncture colleges. Our college has decided to change our admission
requirements according to BC Acupuncture colleges' requirement.
The two year university credits prerequisite is still required for licensing
& practicing in BC upon application to the CTCMA* after graduation.
